Sharp!

This lens is sharp!  This is a ~100% crop of the eyes, they are tack sharp.  It also shows the beauty of the speedlite, bounced off the ceiling/walls gives great catch lights and a wonderfully exposed photo.   Of course, the Aunt standing behind me was blinded but a small sacrifice for such a gorgeous photo :)

The beauty of black and white

I find black and white images to be so beautiful.  Of course the subject of these photos makes them even more beautiful.  Her eyes are captivating in black and white.

Before and After

No offense to hubby, but this wasn't the best photo ever taken of me.  It was underexposed because the lighting was not great, and the wide open room was not conducive to bouncing the flash.  However, I worked a little magic in PSE and resurrected it.

Edits - Upped exposure and brightness, corrected white balance, sharpened for web, cloned out the white tag on my scarf, and of course a few vanity edits (eyes and teeth!).  I should have cropped out the weird edge on the right side.

(wow Matt has a steady hand - can't believe there wasn't more blur at 1/20)

Watermark

I played around with creating a custom brush in Photoshop elements to watermark/copyright my photographs.  I need to make it a little fancier but for now it works in case I need it!

This picture was pulled from the Teagan photo archive as an example.  Adjusted in Adobe Camera RAW. Noise reduction and Unsharp mask run in PSE.

One more...

These two photos capture the current essence of Teagan so well. Composition imperfect, but considering the subject is a crazy, wild, running, jumping, climbing toddler, not too shabby. Plus I have Mommy Goggles on as usual :) Canon 20D 35mm f2

365 Fail

So....it's almost May and I have yet to post. Epic FAIL. So, take two. Let's see if I can keep this up. It's not that I am not taking the photographs, because I am. It's that I suck at blogging. But, no more chatter, let's get to some pictures. I will try to make up for lost time :)

First, recent flower photos from around my yard (all shot on Canon 20D with Canon 35mm f2 lens):
